In terms of hit singles, 2024 sucks. This is the year of the deep cuts

2024-07-31 16:01:00 +0000 UTCI truly donβt understand how The Lemon Twigs have such a little following, only 222K monthly listeners on Spotify for a band thatβs making elite music and is getting better? Iβm puzzled by this like it genuinely makes no sense because I feel like they have a lot of mass appeal as a band as well.

2024-07-23 20:19:04 +0000 UTCYour Gracie Abrams review made me think about how there are not a lot of βnepo babiesβ in music. It seems like most children of musicians keep a lower profile than their parents or pursue a different artistic endeavor. Itβs an interesting contrast compared to children of actors or film makers.

2024-07-21 17:35:13 +0000 UTCKaty Perry was perfectly fine where we left her after βWitness. Sheβs not great, sheβs not good, sheβs just OK. This resurgence sheβs had in the past couple years is just nostalgia-driven. Sheβs never been that special - in fact, she was usually pretty cringe, corny and even homophobic. Pass. We do NOT need more Katy Perry in music.
