Monthly Roundup: January-February

The internet's been holding up pretty well since the modem got replaced in January. The power went out a couple of times throughout these past two months, ranging from a couple of minutes to hours until the evening rolled in (none of them lasted past that, thankfully enough). I haven't had much of an online presence, seeing as I've been putting my available time into working on the monthly pieces as best as I could. It's still not enough, so I've been considering making some further changes to how I handle Patreon and what content I'll offer from now on; I'll have to get my thoughts in order before I make a post about it.

I managed to get a new smartphone through eBay for cheap to replace the budget phone I had bought last year, which had been having issues for quite some time now. The new phone has been working pretty well, though the free government SIM card still has barely, if any, coverage at home. My bro and I kept looking up job listings and even contacting the employment office (from last time), but there weren't any available positions we could actually apply for. A couple of weeks later, all of the phones our family has (except mine for some reason) got cancelled. According to some people our grandpa has talked to, it seems that most free government phones around the island have been getting canceled/shut down on purpose. It would be harder to land a job without a phone (seeing as that's mostly mandatory and takes precedence over contact via email), so our family decided to look into various smartphone plans and eventually found one that would suit everyone's needs. I'll be helping pay for it with my Patreon earnings.

We spent most of yesterday out of the house working on that situation and dropping off a couple of resumes again. They told us to make a follow up call next week, so we'll see how that goes.
