Life Update

I'm sure some of you are wondering what I've been up to, as I've been rather quiet during these past couple of weeks. I thought it was about time I made a post to clarify all that.

I made a post near the end of June about saving up for a new mattress, but with how often the power had been going out I ended up having to use what little I had saved for that at the time to buy a new laptop battery. As some of you may recall, my battery was already dying shortly after the whole mess with hurricane Maria last year and I had yet to find someone who was willing to ship it over here. I was eventually able to find a seller who did and the battery has been working pretty well ever since. Now I won't have to worry about the power going out and losing progress on my work.

Unfortunately, that means I'm back to square one on the whole mattress deal. I still haven't seen a good deal show up on store flyers again, nor have I found anything decent on Amazon that just happens to ship here. As I've said in that last post, such a thing is practically impossible since barely anyone would ship a boxed mattress here and if they did, they'd charge a lot for shipping; I'd be better off buying an actual mattress in person if that were the case. It doesn't help that even if there were a good deal on there, I'm rather skeptical about whether I'd get a dud or not as shown in the reviews and also whether it would support me and other people that would sit on the bed (ie. when a friend is over for a visit).

I've already had to flip my old broken mattress a couple of times since the last post to try and alleviate the discomfort it's causing me. I recall that Sam's Club had some Queen-sized mattresses starting at around $300 or so last time I went there (which was a couple of months ago), but I can't recall the brand. Walmart never replied to me about which stores the one they had on sale was available (long story short, I sent them a message through their official FB page for PR and all I got was an automated message that they'd reply "soon"). I'm sure there must be local stores as well, but I'd have to ask someone who knows about that.

Lastly, my family has been at it again. They're hounding me to get a real job and talking behind my back, among the other things they usually do. This kind of behavior isn't new, but it always irritates me that I have to put up with it. It keeps getting in the way of my personal drawing time. I know I've said all this like a broken record many times, so please bear with me. They still want me to go work at a factory and that's pretty much where I'll have to apply for tomorrow. I wouldn't be surprised if I didn't get the job, seeing as I never heard back from the other factories I've sent my resumes to in the past.
