Quick Status Update & Thoughts

Hi all,

At the moment, the channel has hit a part in its life where I am appealing to a core audience that I can rely on, but isn't being recommended quite as much outside of that. Still, I have a big core audience and I'm very comfortable where I am.

Experimenting with the Helldivers video, I could theoretically say that it "Isn't worth" making long, big projects and videos with a lot of time and production effort as much as trying to get out more 10-15 min videos, because I can expect similar views for both projects, but shorter turnaround times give me more opportunities in the YouTube algorithm.

However, Patreon and sponsorships enable me to make the videos that I want to make. Not the ones that are monetarily optimized.

Therefore, I am going to be making the video that I want to make next and not worry about that kind of performance. Obviously, I want to produce all of my videos at a full quality, and I'm not discounting the need for more views, but I will not let it hold me back when I think I can make a funny and entertaining video.

So, thank you all for the support. The next video is going to be a (probably fairly long) Dragon's Dogma 2 video. By which point, Elden Ring's DLC will have released, and that video I can easily imagine being 20-30 minutes long as well. These are the videos that I really wish to make. They will take longer to create, but I will be pumping out minutes and seconds just as fast as I did in my Helldivers video - there's just going to be more.

UPDATE: I finished Dragon's Dogma 2, and upon realizing how badly suited the end of it and the pacing is for a summary, I think the best kind of video for it might not be very long. I probably have a choice of a 15-20 min video and a 40+ min video, and the second is too long for my mental health.

Hey man, I am really glad you're feeling comfortable with your core audience and feel like you got support behind your back that enables you to work on what you want to work on. Your Patreon and Sponsorships exist exactly for that reason, so you can work on what you want to work on instead of doing whatever you feel you need to just to get by and to try and appease the algorithm. Already looking forward to your next project!
