What do you do to wind down before bed?
I use lavender or neroli oil and do some light restorative yoga. I keep water next to my bed and anything I could possibly need in the night in a pretty basket next to my bed. I wake up about 6 times a night because Iβm a bad sleeper. This keeps me in bed usually instead of wondering the house to look for cough drops or cortisone cream (mosquitoes and fire ant bites every day).
I also like to put a bit of natural fragrance on my pillows, also place one dryr sheet in each of my pillow cases, purse, pockets etc. its calming and not too intense. Itβs mellow.
But before all that..... thereβs nothing like a night time bath π I donβt have hot water here, thatβs fairly common on a tropical island. So my baths are not hot but theyβre relaxing and cool me down from the island heat.
Your turn π
I forgot about the phone! If I sleep with my phone close I donβt sleep. Iβve taken social media off my phone (except patreon) entirely and hired that out since I have to have it for work but hate to look at it. That has helped a ton! The cats in the night are so awake. They try to play with my faceπ

You asked for it... π
My sleep is bad, too. I tend to sleep in 4-hour spurts, though some nights it seems Iβll wake up on the hour every hour. Sometimes itβs the brain refusing to turn off. Sometimes I think itβs sleep apnea because Iβll wake myself up snoring if I end up on my back. Sometimes itβs one of the cats deciding to groom herself next to my head.
On work nights, Iβll sometimes pop a Unisom an hour or so before crawling into bed. It doesnβt put me to sleep right away, but makes falling back asleep easier when I do wake up. Also some deep breathing as I drift off when I remember to do so.
Bottle of water next to the bed and the bathroomβs about four steps away if I need it. I have a bad habit of reaching for my phone if I donβt fall back asleep right away.
I should probably give lavender a try. My sense of smell can be a bit acute, so I think dryer sheets might be a bit much for me.
Anyway... Good night, Danielle. I do hope you are able to rest well tonight. π€
