I've been pretty obsessed with this movie. One thing that I was really wondering after watching people's reactions on Youtube (many of them non Kpop fans) is if someone at Netflix just assumed that only Kpop fans would watch this. Because pretty universally, everyone who watches this thinks that the Twice members at the end are the singers for the characters. Also I learned that I probably should have been paying more attention to EJAE because she's credited on my favourite Twice song (Last Waltz) and my favourite Billlie song (Nevertheless).

Then people started raving about it and I saw a few reactions of some of the songs and covers thereof. Shortly before I watched it, I thought "what if the demons aren't only literal and there's a mental health aspect to this". What makes a good children's movie or book is that it is enjoyable on the surface level, but has something deeper to offer below that. While it wasn't too subtle, I think this movie did that very well. Could have fleshed out those aspects more though and go for the full 120 minutes. Twice singing Takedown surprised me too, I wonder how that happened. But I don't really know their versatility. Btw, there are subtitles without the hearing-impaired music descriptions. The aunt said in the very beginning that Rumi's mother died, but I also thought she is the mother for a good while. It's easy to miss. I'm not sure I will, but I might show this movie to some people. Pretty much nobody I know in real life understands why I'm into KPop and travel to concerts alone. I would have never believed it either, had someone told me this is what I would be into in the future. I really hope EJAE gets recognized for this and we get to hear more from her in the future. Whoever decided to keep her (she sang the demos) as the main singer made the decision of a lifetime. "What's the biggest battlefield of them all?" - "Twitter" took me out 😂
