I don't have any deep thoughts on this album, it's been a while since I last listened to it, so I wasn't planning to comment. I enjoyed it, there aren't any misses, it fits the group well. Sugarcoat is my favorite song of theirs, but overall I don't listen to their music a lot. I use K-Pop as a bubble of positivity and for escapism, so I avoid drama and only read about it in places where people aren't in a mass psychosis. I started avoiding this group entirely mainly for that reason, but also because their apologies were lackluster. Beyond that, I keep out of the discourse and let the people whom the stereotyping actually affects speak for themselves. But K-Pop stans love this shit - any controversy, no matter how warranted or artificial, is used disproportionately as a weapon of mass cancellation. Do they think if other groups lose, their groups win? What void do people fill with excessive moral outrage or disproportionate hate campaigns? What you (I think?) said in the MV reaction about how they're treated like they killed someone summarizes this pretty well. They were being dumb and insensitive, but I've never understood the concept of cultural appropriation anyway. While you're mentioning ARTMS members in this context, I saw Twitter comments on your 1:1 photos recently and jesus.. people get this idea that there is one morally right path to take and when someone does not come to the same conclusions, they are the devil and must be persecuted aggressively, because they are "hurting the idols". Some people are just in this parasocial thing too deep. Fans like this have caused some of my favorite reaction channels to stop reacting to groups I like and it makes me mad. Sorry for the rant, had to get this off my chest somewhere. People who don't understand nuance and are blinded by emotion exhaust me. Back on topic, NATTY PLEASE. Really back on topic, KIOF still has one of the best pre-debut rollouts I've seen and what they're doing now is really different from that. I don't think this vibe was planned all along, but it also doesn't seem forced. NATTY PL- Yea they really give Haneul a lot more shine now than they did in the beginning, she was overshadowed. k bye.
