I don't think my browser ever had hardware acceleration on since that needs to be off you screen record certain things (Netflix etc). I've since moved off Chrome too, it's terrible.

2025-10-14 20:50:54 +0000 UTCYou probably fixed it already but it sounds like the browser was struggling to play the video, if you have Hardware Acceleration on in the settings it uses the graphics card for encoding/decoding any videos, and if you stream or record with the graphics card (NVENC encoder for example) then there might not be enough resources, I'm not sure what OS you have but you should be able to open a task manager and see if the GPU is at like 99% usage. At the same time if you turn off or already has Hardware Acceleration turned off in the browser, it's gonna use the CPU and that too can clash with streaming/recording if you use a CPU preset instead of NVENC, so you can either record/stream with NVENC and leave HW Accel off in the browser or vice-versa.
