Dragon Pony - POP UP Album Reaction

Yet another intriguing band to add to the list

Dragon Pony - POP UP Album Reaction

I am absolutely loving the attention they're getting especially after their latest comeback not that long ago. I've kept my eye on the debuting kbands, but them along with HiFi Unicorn and QWER have kept me so fed and excited for more

Oh... another thing that occurred to me regarding me telling you that their old name roughly translated to New Hippopotamus: Lucy has a new song out called Hippo. It starts out with some serious Wonsang bass - pretty sure he's growl singing several times in the song, too. I'm curious who is playing the drums while Gwangil is doing his military service. Anyway the song is... good, I think? I'm still digesting it. The MV is weird. There's a hippo that is terrorizing this poor kid, but also dancing. I don't know, man - I just want to know why all of these hippos have entered my life recently.

Ecstatic that you loved the album so much, but also incredibly nervous because I've been on a winning streak and don't think I can keep this up forever. There are a few bands/artists that I'm not sure will tickle your fancy, but you're the K-Rock guy now, so I have to put them out there. Let's see... An Taegyu (the lead singer) elaborated further on Leemujin Service that he was born in the year of the dragon and the rest were born in the year of the horse, but also that he was determined to have something Pokemon related in the band name, and I guess there's a Pokemon called Ponyta. So instead of Dragon Horse, we get Dragon Pony. The rest of the group met in high school (I believe Seoul Music High School?). I am really curious to know how they met the lead singer. Pity Punk was my favorite on the album, but everything else caught up to me and now I can't pick. The drummer caught my eye first, too, and that makes me wonder if any of the other bands have a drummer like that or if it's just that whoever is filming just isn't giving them enough attention. Everyone is singing the Not Out album's praises, but I was disappointed. I think it's because a couple of the songs aren't pop-punk inspired and I still don't know how I feel about them. I don't think any of the songs are as good as the songs on the Pop Up album and it makes me worried - yes, I worry about a lot of stupid things. I will put in the request, though, and let you decide. When do you think you're going to be doing the second Xdinary Heroes deep dive? I've been enjoying seeing you react to these bands that you've recently fallen in love with.

And yes.. vocalist is born in the year of the dragon, the other 3 the year of the horse.. so basically the name is just their Chinese zodiacs 🤣🤣 you definitely need to check out a live clip of Pop Up https://youtu.be/2dA373F2hdU?si=I2eGDZOVnvUO_Giu This performance is amazing

The song is called Ouroboros (the second one) and yeah they’re honestly such talented guys, absolutely amazing music.. second mini album is just as good.. and love how much you love Traffic Jam, also my favourite song on the album if I had to pick.. you’d absolutely love Never from their new album. And Onewe’s “origins” story is like on of the best ever.. Harin, Kanghyun, and Giuk meeting at their music academy, starting a band. Giuk being Dongmyeongs neighbour inviting him to join.. them playing as session bands at singing competitions and meeting Yonghoon (who sang and won at one) and inviting him to join as well.. they were MAS 0094 from then on in 2015 to 2017 when they joined rbw, became MAS and were in shows, and then became Onewe and re debuted in 2019..
