[Coming back to Patreon from FourthWall and I thought I'd cheekily copy in a comment I wrote over there for this video, might be informative for some and address things that were asked!] Need a Korean Buddhist guy I'm your guy - Korea had relatively easily minable gold a long time ago, so their altars are traditionally made with gold plate - Head shaving goes back to the beginning in India/Nepal and was basically a branding exercise to be visibly apart from other faiths/occupations and also for the anti-vanity, anti-caste associations. Also to prevent lice in dormitories lol - The prayer she was struggling with is not only in ancient Korean, but also suffused with ancient Chinese as well as Indian Sanskrit. They do use modern Korean often these days - Typically if able you bow 108 times, at least if you're doing it formally - The historical Buddha (~2500 years ago) is understood to be the latest version of an infinite string of them, and in most of East Asia the belief is that different Buddhas are basically part of a multiverse. So yeah, multiple Buddhas on the altar. No creator gods but a different kind of divinity instead - There's been a definite lack of fighting within Buddhism, though some nationalist/imperial movements have used it over the centuries like any other tribal identity. See modern Burma/Myanmar, Imperial Japan, etc - Being scolded by a monk or nun is literally a genre of classic spiritual literature in the tradition, haha

Most videos are now pre-planned, but since there are 24 members, there are still videos released almost daily. The members submit content ideas, they plan it out, content team films it, the footage is edited, and then it is released at a later date. That’s what most of the videos consist of, along with behind-the-scenes content, announcement videos, etc.

2025-03-30 06:33:25 +0000 UTCyeah she has a lot of various jobs on that show; divorce lawyer, teacher, car salesman, cafe worker, etc. "the mall" one you are talking about is where she was a guide in a business district for tourists. her job was to answer questions from English speaking tourists, guide them where they need to go, etc.

Signals are no longer daily snippets of thier lives like pre debut but we still get plenty of content and the members get to choose thier own ideas for Signals as well which is fun.
