Outperform Your Natural Talent

Hi Clare. This is a great question. I think its true that there are scenarios where it makes sense to give up on a specific thing after a failure, but not to give up on everything. For example, suppose someone was trying to become a professional sports person, but failed to get picked for a team after multiple attempts. It makes sense at some point to accept that it won't happen. But all the training and learning and attempts will have given them so much experience and knowledge, that they can pivot and move forward to try something new, such as coaching, managing or announcing. The point here is that all the effort leading up to the "failure" was not meaningless - it still gives great experience that can be used to keep moving forward and progressing.

Thanks for this Tom. It's helpful. Again, youentipn failure. There's various degrees of failure. What do you advise for things that appear to be very big failures? Surely there comes a time when you have to pay down your sword, bso to speak!
