This masking system is designed to allow clothes and restraints to have masks textures that hides parts of the character body/skin in order to avoid clipping and weird looking deformations.

What i did is basically a less sophisticated system similar to BOM (Bake On Mesh) from Second Life.

If you aren't familiar with that, it's basically adding textures on top of the character skin like stockings, tight pants, etc... Using the character geometry instead of creating a new one which reduce the polygon count and avoids clipping at the cost of details, like still having the shape of the nipples on a t-shirt, or the vagina on a jean, etc...

It is a first version of the system, it's not ideal but it works at the moment. Using textures for it is a problem, it means higher memory usage, more space needed on disk and higher processor power when it's being combined together and overdraw.

For a bit of context, overdraw is a term used to describe drawing multiple objects over each other requiring the graphics card to redraw the same pixels multiple times on the screen which is a known problem in the game industry for transparent objects such as leaves of a dress, hair on characters, etc... Ever wondered why outdoor scenes with a lot of grass or trees where performing so badly? Yeah, that's one of the big reasons!

Anyway! The ideal system for me would be to directly hide specific parts of the body by actually hiding the geometry itself instead which means less geometry for the processor and graphics card to handle and you guessed it, performance improvements!

Look at it! I can't believe i finally have my beloved armbinders in the game now! I love those! While it is finally implemented in the game i still have some tweaks left to do.

Those tweaks are just visuals problems of the armbinder in need to fix, in particular the rings and strings of the armbinder, not following correctly the armbinder. Quite the tedious task to do but i will eventually get it in a good enough state for you so you can finally have your lovely armbinder as soon as possible. :)

The first one being that restraints that are on the arms of a character now have the ability to block or not interactions that requires the character hands. That means that you can't equip any items, take items, lockpick or cut interactions. The armbinder is the first one blocking interactions, others will come such as mittens!

The second one doesn't have anything to do with the armbinder but should make some of you happy and other less... Gags now have the ability to affect the stamina regeneration, it currently only the dildo gags affects the stamina of the character wearing it. It has two influences Weak and Strong. Weak will make it 25% slower to regenerate and Strong 50% slower. This is, i think, a nice touch making the sexy dildo gags filling the character mouth more impactful.

Update on the new character model

I had weekly meetings with arzvel to work with him and see how the new character is going. I am thrilled to see the new model being improved and fixed! It is coming along very well, i have no ETA at the moment on when it will be released, however, i can say that the model should be finished sooner than i thought. ;)
