"They call me Alice.... but I'm no Angel"(aka BendyVR Finished!)

If you've been holding off playing BendyVR until the full game was playable, this is the release for you! The game can now be played from start to finish. Very little will change in the final public release (see Trello - https://trello.com/b/pnjFZMMh/bendyvr).

Quite a few big fixes in this release, even at this late stage of the game. I would ask that if you are playing, please do feed back to me any issues you find (unless they are already on the Trello or below in "known issues"). If its something that is replicable at a certain point in the game also sending me across the batim.game file from C:\Users\{user}\AppData\LocalLow\Joey Drew Studios\Bendy and the Ink Machine\Saves will also help greatly.

I would like to thank all of our Patrons for allowing me to spend so much time on this mod. 22% of all of my Steam time in 2022 was in Bendy, with nearly 700 sessions launched. The game isn't built from the ground up, but I think is really great fun in VR.

Changelog -

 - End Credits Blocker
- Fixed Issue that Freeroamcam scenes would be offset by headset tilt. Very uncomfortable
- Removed Bendy Camera Shake
- Removed camera movements from end boss start
- Removed switch pull camera in end boss
- Fixed barge blocker interactions
- Fixed Barge unnecessary animations
- Fixed Chapter 5 opening scenes
- Seeing tool
- Fixed Interaction being active when seeing tool out
- New Game +
- Archives
- Fixed loading screen bleed
- Removed rotated view in CH3 Opening
- Fixed issue with room scale movement making the engine think player was not grounded due to gravity not being applied. Controls should be more responsive now

Known Issues:

- Ending Cinematic is screen locked - this is due to the Unity Video Player used by the devs. I have tried to scale it but having to do the whole of the end of the game every time to check it, I am actually not sure if it is working
- After the credits you have to exit game (and restart for new game + / archives)
- There are a number of animations (especially in the final chapter) where the camera movement is actually baked into the animation itself. In these cases I can't override the camera movements. Nothing too nausea inducing but not ideal.
- Swinging sound of weapon is spawned too many times. Will be fixed in public release.
- Can't switch hands during the game. Need to do it at first.
- You still cannot get back to the main menu. If you do this it will load your first save, but a lot broken. If you wish to exit, use the SteamVR menu (and restart).
- Fog / Some Other Post-Processing Effects rotate with view
- Action prompts need changing

Controls

I've attached a default SteamVR Input for each of the main PCVR headsets. However I was only able to test with Quest 2 (via Link / Air Link). You should be able to see the mapped controls via SteamInput and showing on the controllers. Please let me know if Vive Controllers or Knuckles work and if you have a better default binding, I'd love to have it.

Basically (Quest 2 / Rift S controls):

Non Dominant Hand:
Joystick = Move
Joystick Click / Grip = Run
Trigger = Interact (Holding this will show you the "laser" beam selecting the highlighted object. This is based on Dominant Hand position, not Head Gaze)
Y = Pause

Dominant Hand:

Joystick Left / Right = Smooth Turn / Snap Turn
B = Seeing Tool (CH5 / New Game+)
A = Jump
Trigger = Attack (Gun / Throw weapon types only)

When you get the axe or other Melee weapon, it is motion controlled

Settings

VR Settings

You can find VR Settings in the Advanced Menu (via Main Menu or Pause). Everything there should work. I've not fully tested Left Hand mode, but if you want to play with this make sure to select prior to starting the game.

Performance

You want to aim to get a smooth framerate. The game will run best if you turn off all the optional effects (Anti-Aliasing / Depth of Field / Bloom / Ambient Occlusion), so you have quite a few options to get to a reasonable frame rate (in addition to the graphic quality setting and Steam resolution). Ambient Occlusion does have some small artifacts which are different in each eye. However all options do add nice graphics to the game.

Install Instructions:

Install Instructions are as before. It doesn't matter if you have the mod installed already, follow the same procedure (skipping step 1)

1) You must have the full game installed. We recommend Steam. It should work on other version, but I haven't checked. I would suggest first running it in pancake mode and setting the resolution to 1920x1080 and Full screen. The rest of the options you can change from within the app when the port is installed.

2) Download the attached file and extract the contents anywhere on your computer. I.e. into a folder on the desktop.

3) Find the Bendy and the Ink Machine Full Game directory.

Example: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Bendy and the Ink Machine".

"Bendy and the Ink Machine.exe" is inside this directory.

Drag the Bendy and the Ink Machine.exe file, and drop it on top of BendyVRInstaller.exe.

You should see a command line window. In the end it should say "Installed successfully, probably".
Press any key to close this console.

4) Launch via Steam and it should be good to go.

Couple of notes in terms of the installation:

Steam will still think its not a VR game. If you launch the game when SteamVR is running you will get an warning message. Just click OK and it will launch correctly. This will fix the game as a VR one, and you will not be able to launch pancake.

To uninstall go to the Bendy directory and delete:
/BepInEx
Bendy and the Ink Machine_Data/Plugins
and then run a validate files via Steam.
