Home Town Festival A6 + Other news

Chapter 3 is completed.

It is pretty short compares to chapter 2. Chapter 2 was about 2.5 events long. Chapter 3 is only 1 event long.

This is the last of the teasing chapter. Next chapter our protagonist will finally be getting some hands on experience.

Regarding Patreon

Around last year Patreon announced that 18+ content creators must complete ID verification.

I vaguely remember submitting photo ID to Patreon during me setting up the whole thing, but maybe I am misremembering. I had to submit photo ID to a few companies in order to get paid, so I might be getting them mixed up.

Anyways, Patreon is going to collect IDs using Jumio for the purpose of giving it to MasterCard. It is a case of using a third party company to collect information to give to another third party company.

They are not giving it to the government for law or tax reason, they are giving it to another company that wants it.

This triggered my neurotic alarm bells. Jumio doesn't seems like a trust worthy company to me. A glance at the wiki page just says they kind of had problems and then they were bought out. 

I'm currently leaning towards not giving them my IDs. If I choose to do that, I will have to wind down my Patreon page. 

So what would that look like?

If all possible, I would like to finish the early access of Home Town Festival first, and then un-launch or convert the Patreon page into SFW page (Not sure what I would use a SFW Patreon for, so probably not this).

If Patreon forces my hand before I finish Home Town Festival. I'll create a private game project on itch.io and give access to everybody that is subbed at the time. Continuing the early access that way.

It took Patreon a entire year to actually start collecting IDs, if it takes them another year to actually set a hard deadline, I might actually be able to finish Home Town Festival first and end things amicably. 

I'm not sure if this is the route I am going yet. I will make the final decision when I finished Home Town Festival or when Patreon send me an ultimatum.

What's Next

I needed some time to "reset" myself so I paused billing for September. I'm feeling a little bit panicky for the whole Patreon ID thing I just ranted about. I don't want work on Chapter 4 while feeling anxious. 

I might draw some fan art or practice piece before I start Chapter 4. Depends on how I feel over the next few days. 

Now, no matter what happens to this Patreon page, I will probably keep making NSFW content.

Because, it is about the few that cared not the hundreds that don't. 

I'm sure you heard that sentiment before, I don't even know who I stole that line from. It feels old and ancient. Like Sun Tzu or something.
