2025-10-19 16:09:13 +0000 UTCOh yesssss. Classssic. Fun facts: It was commercial failure at release and was hated by critics across the board at the time. They thought the characters were bland and made stupid decisons, it was overly graphic, a pointless remake, hard to follow, and the entire film annoyingly nihilistic and depressing. (ET and Blade Runner came out around the time which didnt help. You should watch the new blade runner on the channel if you haven't btw) the script at some cases was being rewritten while during filming (theres a good amount of difference between the orginal, including a fair amount of diffrent ending drafts) and they didnt really know how the monster worked in the film (they had a vague idea going in, but they changed some stuff throughout filming), Each cast member had their own idea/understanding how it worked and even the cast has its own opinions on who was infected (as they were filming) what point they were infected on screen (after watching) and the ending's interpretation. Now opinion on the movie has changed (justifiably so), and its largely viewed as ahead of its time.
