Before I started using a dummy battery, I couldn't record longer than like two hours and 20 minutes... and that was with the camera charging through the computer! If the camera wasn't plugged in? I'd maybe only be able to record an hour before the battery died lol

I really enjoyed this movie when it came out. It's a shame they ruined the lore with the Paradox movie and it's absurd pseudoscience premise

This was SUCH a great reaction to one of favorite movies!! Iβve seen this thing at least half a dozen timesβ¦ and somehow you STILL had me noticing stuff I completely missed π€―
Also, no joke, I had to rewind that final scene like 4 times after watching your reaction just to finally catch that splashdown π Like HOW did I never see that before?!
Thatβs honestly why I love watching movies with you, youβve got this superpower of spotting details the rest of us totally overlook. Makes it feel like Iβm watching my favorite movies for the first time all over again π
Also, if youβre looking for another βwaitβ¦ this is technically horror but also chaos and action??β kind of movie, youβve GOT to check out Underwater (2020) with Kristen Stewart. Feels right up your alley, Addie, Iβd love to see you react to that one!

Addie: How is the battery not dead on the camera?!
Spoken like someone whoβs had their battery die while filming a reaction π
Great reaction Addie! Definitely within your scare threshold. If anything, you psych yourself out in anticipation of a jump scare. More than the actual jump scare π
Never noticed that object falling into the ocean at the end. Great catch! Canβt believe Iβve never noticed it before

On number 3, if I remember correctly, what we see is actually the space satellite that crashes into the sea and wakes Clover up.

This movie changed the meme: cameraman never dies to camera never dies.

This is part of a trilogy (of sorts), followed by 10 Cloverfield Lane (2016) and The Cloverfield Paradox (2018). I think both are worth checking out.

There is a "second" movie but its completely different than this one. Its not a found footage film but an actual "mystery drama" called 10 Cloverfield Lane. Its stand alone movie so it wouldnt matter if you watched this one first or that one. I think 10 cloverfield lane is the better movie of the two.
Looking forward to Day After Tomorrow.

The lore of this movie and the Cloverfield series is INSANE!!! For example the girl passed out on the couch during the party at the beginning isn't drunk. She's dead, but they don't put that in the movies u just have to look up thw Cloverfield lore

Some βfunβ facts about this movie
1: thereβs a secret voice message at the end of the credits that says that the monster is βstill aliveβ even after the bombing
2: the monster clover is said by both jj abrams and matt reeves to be a baby which is insane given its size
And 3: at the very end during their trip when robβs filming the ocean you can see clover arriving on earth as he crashes into the ocean
