We're excited to announce the release of Videochat Extension v3.3.0! This update includes many minor changes and visual improvements based on your feedback and our ongoing efforts to enhance our browser extension.
While this release does not contain any major new features, your experience should now feel a bit more polished.
❗ Important Note for Legacy Users:
Our recent updates include significant changes for users who were relying on our native support for Omegle-like sites. Due to recent industry shifts and platform policy changes, we've had to restart our project from scratch. Videochat Extension now works on a universal platform, meaning it supports all possible audio / video chats. However, you now need to manually activate the extension whenever you want to use it.

✨ New Features & Enhancements:
🔔 Legacy User Reminder System: Implemented a reminder system for legacy users to prevent annoying notifications and improve the transition experience.
💰 Promotional Pricing: Implemented support for promotional pricing in the "start" interface.
📹 Content Creator Support: Added a message indicating upcoming free limited Browser Mode access for content creators.
🖼️ Improved Legacy Interface Mode: Enhanced PIP mode with better visuals on the host page, improved map dragging, and a workaround to maintain theme preferences. We also changed the emoji, as the phoenix bird turned out to be too new and appeared as a burning bird on some devices.
🌐 Website Mode: Added a link to supported sites in the Website Mode footer and improved the warning system regarding website mode risks to avoid prompting users with a confirm() alert every single time.
🌙 Dark Theme Default: HTML pages now default to a dark theme for a more consistent experience, instead of relying on what the browser thinks the user wants.
🐛 Bug Fixes & Improvements:
🗺️ Map Module: Improved active tab checks before resizing the map to prevent potential errors. Enhanced drag event handling by adding a check for the active map tab and introducing a timeout mechanism for re-enabling drag functionality.
While this is an extremely inadequate workaround, it should work for the time being.
The alternative would be not being able to drag the map at all.
🥷 Username Masking: Patron usernames are now masked with fixed amount of asterisks in the "start" UI for enhanced privacy.
💎 Patron Status: Updated the user status display logic to show the last patron list pull time for inactive patrons, indicating when the patron list was last updated on our server.
🎥 OBS Setup: Fixed the path for setting OBS credentials in the legacy UI.
🌐 Localization: Updated various messages locales for improved clarity and consistency.
Other Changes:
🗑️ Removed the temporary breakup popup announcement as part of the transition away from platform-specific improvements.
✨ Minor changes and bug fixes to make your experience as polished as possible.
