The main idea for this month's Patreon-exclusive is: "Reliving your best memory with a special someone."
In a futuristic world, technology has advanced to the point where you can pay a sizeable fee to upload snippets of sensory memory (full combo of visual, tactile, auditory, smell) to a special recording machine.
Then, you can choose to pay another sizeable fee to re-experience the memory you've uploaded with a special "VR suit." Today, you are visiting the facility to re-experience a memory.
You are greeted by a chirpy attendant, who straps you in and starts up the machine for you. Soon, the walls around you disappear, and you are brought back to the time when.............................
In your idea submission(s), include the following:
1. Why have you chosen to re-experience this memory?
Some ideas (or come up with your own):
- The person in your memory is no longer with you (for whatever reason - you may specify this in plot details)
- A teacher or mentor you love taught you something significant, and you need to go over the lesson again in full detail
- You witnessed an event that you want to turn into a story or film and want to experience it again so you can bring it to life accurately
- Had a fight with your significant other who insists you did - or did not - do something on said date; now you're double checking
- Simply because it was a pleasant and beautiful memory. Life has been stressful so you want to unwind
2. Choose your setting. It does not have to be on Earth, and it does not have to purely be sci-fi. You can blend different genres and elements with the future tech that is featured in the audio.
3. General plot description of what is experienced (relived) in the sensory-memory-record that is played for you. Include short character descriptions and backgrounds if desired.
4. (Optional): Specific lines you wish to hear the speaker character say, details on sound effects and ambience.
You can submit up to two sets of ideas. If you do, please label them IDEA 1 and IDEA 2. Submissions can be as brief or as detailed as you like.
