Tonight is quiet and you can hear the front door, opening, closing, then a car backing out of the driveway somewhere upstairs and taking off. It must’ve been ‘his’ car. The one that’d stolen you away from the world for himself. It's the only chance you’ve had to escape in as long as you could remember. Hurriedly, you find the keys you’d stolen off of your captor’s nightstand the week prior when he was getting you more of his ‘gifts’ in more attempts to win you over. You desperately try to find the one for your handcuffs and feel a sensation you’d nearly forgotten washing over you; hope. Tossing aside the cuffs you climb the stairs and begin trying the mess of keys to one of the few locks installed in the door. One clicked. Another clicked. But the last few, no matter how many times you tried with all the keys, didn’t have matching keys. Then, you heard the sound of the bolt of the door turning. The amused, albeit annoyed voice behind it let out a sigh of displeasure as the door opened and there he stood before you, jingling those last few keys that would’ve been to your freedom. “Looking for these?”

You don't get the full satisfaction of the victim escaping because he still got what he wanted from them. Whichever choice they would have made he would have gotten something he wanted out of it. There was no way for the victim to really win in this situation. Makes me frustrated, but in a really good way. In short, amazing writing! <3

And this one was perfection! Had me so tense in every thrilling scene....especially the scene with "The Choice". Oh that had me so scared but so intrigued.
