Though you’ve sustained a critical injury, you and Doctor Williams have escaped the pirate fortress of Cassovo and are hiding in a shanty town circling the southern reaches of Sailor’s Bane. A treacherous strait that even seasoned sailors have avoided in fair weather. The doctor and you have acquired yourselves some bed and board, taking advantage of the few days of peace you’ll have here to plan and prepare before word of Doctor William’s escape has spread and an official bounty from The Empress has been dispatched. However, you cannot leave the town as you spot several of the Empresses’ ships on the horizon. You and Williams are alone in the tavern, the owner being bought off by gold left on the Silver Spade’s vessel you’d stolen away in together. He’s grown particularly suspicious of you and your growing curiosity to see what is behind the ever-present mask. You’d never seen him eat or drink. Never heard his voice without the distortion of the plague doctor’s leather-beaked headpiece. You press him to reveal himself so that you may satiate your curiosity and better know who you are risking your life for. Unfortunately this only leads the normally aloof doctor to lose their calm… As they begin to lay into you, your wounds worsen once again and you fall unconscious; leaving you in the doctor’s hands once again.

I loved getting to learn a little more about doc Williams and at the same time I felt fully immersed in the story as if it was a part of the campaign I was in.
