On the rise of Trump - Chris Hayes' podcast had a researcher on who went through the ANES (American National Election Survey) data and found that Americans didn't know which political party was "for" black people/racial minorities until Obama was president. The answer was basically a coin flip. After Obama, people figured it out pretty quickly. I wonder how much of the ascendancy of fascism in the US is due to people finally figuring this out.
