Changes Ahead

Titles like that are always scary right, like oh god who is dead or leaving the show or who is getting fired or will anyone ever love me again, etc.

But it's not that serious, don't worry. We're still doing basically the same exact thing. Except every other month next year we're gonna be mixing it up and trying something different.

We've had a bunch of books on our to-do list but this particular batch has a problem - they're too fucking long. Seriously, these beefers take too long to read and would wreck us on scheduling. We're pretty far ahead already but it's just too much work to do a book that can take two or even three weeks to read with our schedules. So we have a solution now.

Starting in January, every other month, for the last week, we're going to do a thick boy. Or girl. Either or. But that means the poll must be altered! And we can't be doing real shit in the same month or we're gonna die. So, every month with a long book, the poll will be to decide ALL the other books for that month. But to do that, they're gonna be short reads. Real short. Like three novellas is too long, so think short short.

We've got seven categories of short things to read. Yes, seven, a bonus long book at the end of the year, gotta clear our reading list, you know. The issue is we can't necessarily wait until the month before to put the poll up because we have to start releasing the episodes at the beginning of the month instead of the end. So that means we'll be putting the polls out for short book months two months ahead, which also means the first one of these will be going out to you soon. We'll choose what to read in those categories, because it's just too hard to do anything other than that. We'll start with seven categories, and just remove the winner from the next poll and work our way through all seven through the year.

I know your greatest concern is the great Reading of The Names. Don't worry, we'll still do that. It'll just be during the final episode of the short book series, the week before the un-polled long book. So effectively same difference.

I know this seems like a lot, or maybe it doesn't. Long story short (ha), you pick the shorties and get 3-4 episodes and then we do a long book.
