Christianity ruled my life for 30 years, but having dropped those shackles a few years ago I am more than ever obsessed with learning counterapologetics and surfing atheist memes etc. So I feel that religion still has a hold of me. I am in no position to actively engage in atheist activism right now, but I dream of a day when I can completely forget about religion and live the life I know I have. Is that something you aspire to? Are you optimistic that we will live to see the day when religion is just a relic of our evolution?

I would love a simple but powerful response to christians who excuse genocide in the old testament. The Israelites murdered entire tribes of people, except virgin girls, and that was a "good" thing. Imagine if all those evil tribes had lived. This reasoning is heinous in my mind.
