This was a great episode, so many great moments with the grandmother, Chimon’s character not taking any of Perth’s character’s shit. I really love the ending, sometimes it’s just seeing the others perspective of how they live is enough to make you realize how terrible your actions have been. It makes sense and more importantly a good time to start making the character go through that change, if they waited any longer I could see it getting harder and harder to root for the relationship.

OMG i was waiting for this ngl i’m about to write an essay in ur comments i’m sorry in advance i cannot believe how much i have to say and how much actually i’m enjoying this because this is not the type of romance trope i like but here we are.
that last scene of ep 2 was genuinely well done. kanghan is already going to be begin to change and it’s not because he’s fallen in love with him or anything but simply because he saw the actual violence sailom has to go through and seeing him actually affected by it and seeing him truly scared for the first time. flashing back to his bullying and how sailom didn’t care because why would he when he’s going through shit like this? putting into perspective just what he’s done to him as well and also the fact this is all being caused by money.
i saw some ppl confused by kang’s views suddenly starting to change and comforting sailom feeling a little too soon but to me it just makes perfect sense and it’s mostly because of how i view his character and have since episode 1. he’s just so ridiculous and in over his head (the unloaded gun showing this to me the most) and downright sucks at bullying. he just wants to feel important and like the king a lot i’m sure because of his relationship with his dad and his dad seeing nothing in him. he goes in there ready to scare sailom into probably prostrating at his feet for the 4747473 time and instead sees a situation he’s not prepared to see; a taste of a world he’s never experienced and instead of being happy that sailom finally is scared it’s the last he wants. because he’s not who he acts like he is and he’s once again just in over his head. he can pretend all he wants he’s this big scary bully who’s not afraid to beat people up but he was going in there to scare sailom into apologizing and instead witnesses him getting beat up cowering in fear about to be burned. realizes that this isn’t what he wants because he’s not actually that type of person. others can probably explain this better as i’m not great at explaining my thoughts but it was genuinely watching someone who thinks he knows everything and is this top dog and knows himself be shot back to the reality of “oh i don’t want to see this happen”.
it also doesn’t mean he’s going to completely change over night. i think and hope we see an internal struggle of him not doing back to his old ways and that we get to watch his struggle of unlearning a lot of things he’s been taught. i wouldn’t even be surprised if we see him go back to his old ways at some point. i’d only call it poor writing if he was just suddenly a completely different person next ep which i can’t see happening but never trust a gmmtv show completely so jfjdj i just hope the writing stays consistent.
relating to that i also quite liked kang asking if this happens every time he can’t pay his debt. i expect his realization of his money and status to be dealt with too bc of that + most of his flashbacks of what he’s done to sailom being of him saying money can buy anything + he just watched sailom face violence because of money and being poor.
it also makes complete sense for sailom to find comfort in kang because he’s never been scared or intimidated by him (now we know one of the reasons why). he was merely a nuisance in his life. of course after being literally assaulted and almost burned he’ll run to whoever is closest even if it’s kang.
also this shows constant use of embarrassing and turning around every situation onto kanghan is honestly iconic they aren’t letting him get away with shit 😭😭 he gets an egg to the face like every scene and got the biggest slap to the face at the end of this ep: A REALITY CHECK! he lives in a bubble that got popped.
anyways let me stop talking cant wait to watch your reaction
