I love that he got the upper hand by kissing Kang. I appreciate the twist that the ‘bullied’ doesn’t take any shit and is actually un afraid to sass back. Im sat!

I said before I wanted intensity and I think they nailed it, I never feel like enemies to lovers BL feel as angsty and intense as I think the trope requires and they actually surprised me with that I understand though the bullying, if prolonged or not treated well, can be an issue not only to character likability but also future growth. However, I can already see little things with Perth's character I'm hoping gets more built on. I love how Chimon's character doesn't put up with anything he does and I think that why I can find the bullying aspect not as hard for me to swallow. I think his and Chimon's acting was pretty superb. Perth is such an emotive actor, he's very subtle and never over the top which is vital for a character like this. You can just tell their experience in acting it shows here so well, probably my favorite part of the episode was their chemistry and fantastic performances. Also just filming, pacing, and look were also nice. Im overall very impressed with this start, and very excited for the next episode.

Not to be that person, but Perth is problematic, and Chimon is... well, let's just say, don't you have to be attractive to make money as a rentboy? Yeah. I'm mean. At least I'll be entertained, courtesy of you all. Off to watch now. P.S.: And so wow, these characters are terrible people too! I'm screaming. This is a toxic romance series, so it won't make the top of my list of shows to catch up on right now, but I may really have to come back to this for more of Jericho's and Diana's righteous fury. I'm always ready to be a bully's worst nightmare too.

2023-08-19 02:32:17 +0000 UTCreally realized this is f4 but gay when he got half the school in on the bullying and the ending when there was a whole bunch of ppl watching and the whole owning the school thing but LMAO i was kind of in between you/nolan and dee/jericho going from perth why are you so charismatic to oh his character needs to burn HHDJSJ i skipped to your discussion before i watch the reaction just to hear your guys thoughts and i totally get dee. i was bullied too and it’s so hard to watch but i can for some reason detach myself from it when i see it in shows most of the time - i think as a self protection thing. but i totally agree with you kent (and jericho when he said he hopes the bullying stops soon) i hope the bullying doesn’t get romanticized and we get a proper apology for it. it’s the main thing i’m worried about every time i go into watching a bully romance trope show (and i usually never watch them so i’m surprised i’m enjoying it this much) and for good reason because a lot of the times they just brush past it and/or romanticize it like you said.

2023-08-19 02:13:50 +0000 UTComg kent !! i’ve been waiting for this i’m excited to see y’all’s reactions. i watched both trailers yet somehow didn’t realize the vibes of this was going to be boys over flowers but gay and you know what i’m surprisingly here for it 😭😭 i usually do not like the bully romance trope but it was refreshing to see the bullied fight back and not take shit and the bully to be outsmarted and look like a dumbass and that ending ?! they got me locked in i’m ready for ep 2 perth is one hell of an actor tho bc i wanted to curb stomp his character for the entire episode 😭😭
