But that was becasue of what Jim said she'd said about male-male relationships, but after this episode, I think it's exactly what Wen was saying to Jim. Alot of so called "allies" are allies as long as it's not THEIR sons and daughters who are gay. For example, I work with some people who I know vote for anti-gay conservative politicians, and yet they keekee and heehaw with the gay guy/girl who works with us, but the idea that her own child may be non-binary or gay is just too much for her. So MiLing's mom is fine with her brother who doesn't live with her and doesn't flaunt his "gayness" in front of her but the idea that her own son is gay is a step too far...which is tupid but not uncommon sadly

The storyline with Gaipa and his mom...lordt...I really did have to pause, skip and then go back. during the eulogy and funeral scene (my aunt literally passed 2 weeks ago and today was her birthday and we're burying her in two days), Khatoung's acting was soo good! I actually think many people are giving Jim a harder time than he deserves...yes he's been hard headed and a bit out of touch when it comes to new generational stuff, but Jim is truly a selfless guy with a good heart. Who hasn't truly harmed or cheated anyone and literally gave his last everything to help his nephew, his employees and even Wen. And even with his unbendablilty he's still a good guy with yes some outdated ideas, but knowing his trauma kinda even explains that.

And yes, the song 月亮代表我的心 or the moon represents my heart is a Chinese song. When Gaipal said he was going to sing his mother’s fav song, I immediately knew he was gonna sing this and was begging him not to. 😭😭

I just love this series so much, I just see it as flawed but good people living their lives trying to get by and have a better life. and that alone makes it so special and just a masterpiece for me I love how they show people struggling with money but doing their best to try to change their circumstances and how finding a place to call home can be a true blessing in your life. I very much miss it. I'm so excited for P'aofs next series with Jimmy & Sea this year even more now he's such a talented director.

2023-03-03 03:02:04 +0000 UTCLordt Kent...I'm gonna wait to watch your reactions to ep 7/8 back to back, because, I'm the least emotional person when it comes to watching stuff, but mahn if the final 2 eps of MLC didn't have me misty eyed for darn near every frame! I've literally rewatched 2 reactions already and STILL misty eyed. Now it may be because of my own family going through grief right now, but I think it's more than just than just that. This series just was so different and mature than others that it just hit different in a IDK mature feeling so of way...ya know what I mean? So I'll def be better to watch both reactions after my eyes are drier...LOL
