Don’t agree with what Jim said to Li Ming but I do understand where he’s coming from. Being poor already meant Li Ming is having an underprivileged and difficult life. Being gay as well would mean that Li Ming would have an even more difficult life having to deal with homophobia. And Jim knows this best being a poor and gay man who has experienced this first hand. He probably loves Li Ming and doesn’t want him to go through what he personally went though, but couldn’t express it well.

2023-02-25 01:01:09 +0000 UTClol..lordt.. at this point I wish they never released that preview...LOL so many folks still ranting about it...LOL I still think it's gonna be a bit of a headfake with more context, but then again, if it's not I guess I'll think about it in terms of how this series seems to go for more realism when portraying many issues (like classicm, poverty, relationship, love, etc) and knowing that Jim's character is supposed to be closer to 40. As a gay man from a different less tolerant generation in a country that even today isn't as tolerant as other Asia countries when it comes to LGBTQ rights (BL genre mecca or not but correct me if I'm wrong about Thailand not being as progressive on LGTBQ rights as other Asian countries) and I could see him as somone with internalized trauma that he doesn't want to see his nephew experience the same things and Jim being Jim just doesn't say it well or even use the right words to express that concern without sounding hypocritical or rude. I still think it's a fake out (probably something to do with Li Ming's mother coming into the picture), whatever the case, I'll wait until the next ep before judging Jim, as proven by the whole Wen/Alan situation, this series seems to really embrace nuance/context. 2023-02-24 03:06:52 +0000 UTCOMG Kent's opening comments were "Keep is nice and respectful in the comments we have been having a great time" Kent's ending comments was a full on RANT and followed by the blank stare at the computer while the outro song plays. I am screaming!!. Kent also had the never to go seeking Li-Mings mom when He KNOWS full well he cant handle the mommas of GMMTV. Kent's mouth was wide open for 3 minutes while he heard about the Ferry Tragedy. I'm so glad I watched early because I could not focus for watching Kent's full range of emotion play across his face. Such a great series so far (I hate that I have to say so far but ya k now how Gmmtv be doing) the shit could go south at anytime.

Breakups are painful and although I feel for Alan, I still need him to move on and let go. I think it shows great character on Wen's part (and Jim for understanding) to step up and take care of Alan even though he is his past. I too enjoyed ALL the EarthMix visuals this episode as I do EVERY episode.....huge EarthMix stan even though I have now fallen for the cuties GeminiFourth as well. Speaking of which, I hope Tinn and Gun get a better kiss. It was still sweet though! I agree with you Kent. I'm a little confused and angry at Jim's reaction. I really want him to have a better relationship with LiMeng. I'm sure Wen will be there to also help with that as well! Feel really bad for Gaipa!! I had to look away a bit during that scene with him and Jim. He was breaking my heart!! The acting!!! WOW!!! Loved the reaction!! I was rolling!!!

2023-02-24 01:02:12 +0000 UTCsomeone mentioned something and it made me think...Jim is supposed to be "almost 40" as much as I love my Earth/Mix, I wonder if they had cast who was actually closer to the age Jim is supposed to be if the reaction to Jim would be different...I mean no matter how they change his hair Earth is an entire decade younger than 40. Jim is supposed to be older, seasoned, and much much older than any of the other guys. I think it was was an older actor playing Jim. so much of what Jim says and does in regards to Li Meng and even Wen would have a more "geneational gap" feel. Earth and Mix are what only 4-5 years apart, and Mix is only 7 years olde than Fourth/Gemini. the dialogue between Jim and Li Meng would hit differently right? Anyway, I love me some Earth/Mix though so I'm loving the series anyway.

2023-02-24 00:41:54 +0000 UTCthis is what I picked up for a time line, could be completely wrong. Alan and Wen broke up around February, Wen and Jim met in September. so in total Jim and Wen have known each other for about 4months. (they knew each other through Halloween and Christmas)

Next week though, the sister just already seems sus. I mean Li Meng didn't look happy to see his mother. What she do???? I appreciate how honest Jim was with Gaipa and that he didn't use Gaipa for the loan. I even appreciate Alan for being honest and recommending another bank for Jim. That's pretty professional. All in all a great episode...that preview though...woof.
