To be honest, I do agree with you Kent, at this moment I think this series is topping Bad Buddy for me. As much as I love BB, I really do feel more of an emotional connection to these characters and their story, and I guess I don't really know if that has more to do with the show in general or with the actors. It is interesting to wonder what BB would have looked like had it gone to Wabi Sabi instead... like just the simple fact that they've been having these conversations where Eiw's character just flat out says "I'm gay." and the scene in this episode where they talk about it. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I can't think of a GMMTV show where they just flat out say things like that like it's just a fact and it's not a big deal, or really just say the words at all. I do understand that, like you said, things are a bit different between the two companies, and maybe GMMTV doesn't have the freedom that Studio Wabi Sabi has on their platform, but it was so refreshing to see something like this happen. Anyway, cannot say it enough times, this show is so well done, well written, beautifully acted.

2022-11-02 05:30:25 +0000 UTCFor me this has taken my number one spot in BL, this series I think is a perfect depiction of love and growing up in such a profound way. What I love most about this series is its passage of time, and how integral and important that is to its plot. for Bad Buddy we didn't get this time to explore their past nearly as in-depth and for Cake & Eiw without getting to know their past, the episodes now wouldn’t be anywhere nearly as fulfilling and as powerful as they are now. The beginning confession scene was one of the most heart-wrenching scenes but also one of the most satisfying moments in BL, this was years of pent-up feelings in both of their hearts not being able to be contained and was all in front of us and it was beautifully done. When they make love for the first time at the end of this episode it’s so important and meaningful to us because they are fully crossing that line from friendship to relationship I legit cried it was so beautiful, I also love the pan-up from them kissing to their childhood photo it’s showing them leaving their adolescence and taking that step forward with their relationship as a viewer we are so invested in them because we lived along side of them for what feels like years. So finally seeing this relationship blossom is so satisfying and superb! This series takes the audience seriously and expects us to take it slow and we were so rewarded for our investment! Also for me, Santa is blowing me away in terms of his acting in this. for being so young I'm so surprised at him, also earth of course, they are so good together and their acting is easily the best of the year. As you pointed out there is so much not just the relationship they explore, they explore coming out and self-discovery in such a nuanced and emotional way everything about it is perfect to me, I literally have nothing bad to say..at all. oh god, this is so long ill stop but oh boy other BL's need to step up because I don't see anything topping this for me..more people need to watch this masterpiece!

I was waiting on this reaction (I have no one to talk about it with) and KENT, you where everything I expected!! Hahaha!! This series is so freaking GOOD! Cake looooooves Eiw so beautifully, yes, the way he looks at him!!! My good, I love this!! And I don't think is better than BB, but it's there!! Thank you Stuido Wabisabi!!
