2022-06-07 04:28:37 +0000 UTCjust want to help those interested to understand a bit better cos the eng subs are sub-par.. 11:07 - Shinomiya says something like "it's (my injury/hurt is) completely no issue as long as you're fine/not hurt people dont usually speak like that, it's overly caring and 'prince-like' in japanese tropes, esp for japanese speech between what's supposedly strangers. that's why fukuhara was like 'people dont speak like that' (i translate it as "why are u so dazzling" in his mind) 24:01 - this one is a classic japanese trope. think of it as a homophone (same pronunciation but different meanings) Fukuhara says "it'd be nice if you can hang out with me/accompany me (as friends)" but it can also be heard as "it'd be nice if you could go out with me (as couples)" cos the verb sounds the same (though it writes differently) to fukuhara, it would make perfect sense to not have anyone mishear it (or so he thinks) BUT CLASSIC JAPANESE TROPE it is. me thinks shinomiya had that pensive look cos he was really considering it (and also, he seems to know fukuhara? im guessing based on that look he gave him when he walked by after getting the dirty water accident) - so shinomiya agreed to be 'a couple' to fukuhara's 'be good friends who hang out' request hope this helps! it may not be the most accurate since it's been a while that i used my japanese language cert (learnt in high school lol) edit: also, the characters for his name, fukuhara kouta literally means 'original/origin blessing + much luck' HAAHAA there are also other random minor errors - like green bell peppers were translated as eggplants.. 'the professor is talking nonsense again' should accurately be 'as usual, i have no friggin idea what the prof is saying'
