2022-05-12 14:52:04 +0000 UTCI've had a few days to reflect now and have watched countless reactions and I've to come to the realisation that people moving forward should really live by the old adage be careful of what you wish for. Everyone and their grandma were anxiously anticipating KINNPORCHE because it was going to be BL for adults. And therefore hopefully of a higher calibre than the majority of Thai BLs. Apparently some people thought that was only going to be applied to the sex scenes! Only what we got is in fact an adult drama with complex characters who live in the grey and storytelling that doesn't rely on explicit exposition so requires the audience to apply some critical analysis. I loved the subtext of this episode. Especially in the parallel sex scene/flashback. The beautiful use of composition, lighting design and musical scoring to depict the canon of these men feeling the SAME emotions of lust, longing and confliction. I loved the mutual passive aggressive behaviour of both Kinn and Porsche cause it's realistic. All this best practice judgement BS of how we should behave with one another that I see going around annoys me. Kinn and Porsche being hot messes (excl. THE scene in Ep4) with the people they're attracted to is the most realistic and relatable thing in this show! And I love and appreciate that they've kept that in an otherwise "unrealistic" mafia world. Thank you for your authentic reactions. I'm always entertained and amused!! God why isn't it Saturday yet!!

While the Porsche in the book felt he was assaulted, having a homophobic internal fight with himself, the Porsche in the series is feeling sad and heartbroken, while having an internal fight with his new feelings for this man!

When talking about the other show and my trauma emotionally I wanted the show to not exist b/c no one seemed to see what I saw. So my statement I that I said poorly meant if you want to cancel it then don't watch. I completely agree with you that he shows sign of SA and is in shock. I really hope that the characters have a real conversation about what happened and that his feelings are explored and not dismissed.

So if it sounded like I was saying you think that way about all instances then I apologize. I really am trying to figure out why I got so worked up and why I went off on this reaction. I feel like saying...Porshce was in an altered state and could not give consent is not the same as wanting the show cancelled and being immature. I feel like the two thoughts are being wrapped into one. I saw a sexual assault but I don't think the show is bad or should be cancelled because it included that. I thought the show handled the storyline well but I interpreted it differently. I only get upset when even the thought of sexual assault isn't entertained like if you think it's assault then you shouldn't watch. It felt derisive the way you guys addressed it and I have seen others I disagree with but it didn't feel so pointed more like we can agree to disagree which honestly I understand as well. I also I think personally I am still processing the attack on body autonomy that's going on in the US right now and that will pour over into assault for gay and straight people and so when the language around it feels careless I just lost my shit. I'm not proud of that. I want to have gotten it wrong because again I really enjoy all of you. I honestly just think I should stay away from your KinnPorsche reactions. I can just enjoy everything else.

A lot of where we are coming from is against the hypocrisy that we see on YouTube, Twitter and other group chats that we are in. It's a 21+ show, and under 21 people are ready to sign petitions left and right to cancel this show. And these are the same people that have been waiting over a year for KinnPorsche to arrive, to simply fulfill their asian m/m fetishism and wanted to see these steamy, sex scenes- probably unprepared for the dark themes that came along with it. Last thing I can say is, it is unfair to say that we dismiss signs of sexual assault, signs of rape, or make any assumptions on our stance of rape in general- based off ONE situation we were given from KinnPorsche. Because if you were to ask us how we felt about TharnType episode 1, where Tharn was touching Type in his sleep without his knowledge- we say it is rape.

It just felt really pointed and generalized and I think so highly of all of you that it just made me sad. Maybe I am wrong. You know I love this channel I enjoy all of you as reactors so maybe that’s why it took me off guard because it really didn’t feel like a discussion. Anyway I don’t know if I can even make sense right now I am still a bit shook up cause although these are characters I know what this looks like in real life and Porsche was showing all the signs of assault and watching you guys dismiss them felt so fucked up for me. You guys always talk about haters and don’t come for me and so I don’t know what to think about if you even want to hear something different it is your channel. Also I have spent a week trying to explain assault all over the internet and I think I am just emotionally done. I was sure I wouldn’t have to do it here and just feel so sad that this is how you guys chose to address it. You basically said anyone that doesn’t agree is a child who is probably stealing the show so I mean what am I supposed to think?

I also don't really think any of you care about an opinion that doesn't match your own when it comes to the characters and sexual assault. You made that very clear. I actually think this show gives room for some great conversations on the topic but I just know now this isn't the page for that. I won't bother watching any more of the gang's reactions on this show. I'm so disappointed in the speech that you made at the end and really just sad that you are willing to say with your whole chest that basically if you are attracted to your assaulter you are basically asking for it. I mean it's a hot take. It's your channel and I am pretty positive opinions aren't welcome here around this topic and my post was all emotions and not constructive. Good thing is if you make fun of me or others I won't hear it in the next reaction. Just know that as a 45 yr old person who works with sexual assault victims and actually thinks the show handled the issue really well because it is nuanced that your hot take at the end was pretty fucked up and full of victim blaming and if anyone reading this needs to hear that then this comment is worth it.
