You stand your ground, looking Alina in the eyes with a firm resolve. "Alina, I understand you're upset, but I can't—and won't—get involved in your personal issues with Jason," you explain, keeping your voice steady. "You're both young adults now, and it's important for him to make his own choices. Plus, calling Kendra names like that isn't fair. She seems like a nice girl."
Her eyes flash with anger, and for a moment, you think she might argue further, but then she seems to deflate, the fight draining out of her. "Fine," she says, her voice filled with resentment. "But if he gets hurt, it's on you."
With that, she spins on her heel and struts away, leaving you feeling conflicted. You know you made the right choice, but you can't help but wonder if you could have handled the situation better. You head back to the table, your mind racing with thoughts of Alina's bet and the potential drama that could unfold.
When you return to the restaurant, you find Ava waiting for you, looking slightly concerned. "Everything okay?" she asks, her eyes searching your face.
"Yeah, everything's fine," you tell Ava, sliding back into your seat. "Just had to sort out some... uh, guy stuff." You don't want to get into the details of the confrontation with your wife, not now.
Ava leaned in close, her hand still wrapped around yours. "It's okay, you know," she whispered. "I trust you. Just... keep it in your pants, okay?" She giggled, trying to lighten the mood as she doesn't know what just transpire with Alina.
You squeeze her hand back, grateful for the reassurance. "What?" you murmur.
"Haha I'm just playing with you babe. I know you're incapable of cheating on me. Our love for each other and our family are too strong." She kiss your cheek. Finally Ava ask. "What about we go do some window shopping of our own?"
Do you?
