I watched with the old audio where it echoed toward the end…..though I’m sure this is better it kind of worked with one of the motifs of the episode: déjà vu…..it was like I was hearing things that I’d already heard somewhere before. [just shows how much I love this episode, I powered though the déjà vu audio]
That scene between Olivia and Walter is great, they’re both such great actors in completely different roles. John Noble [Walter] has to play this over the top character and make him sympathetic and funny without making him too cartoonish or ridiculous, thus he has a lot of range to work with but it could fall apart into parody unless he’s great. While Anna Torv [Olivia] plays this very controlled person [small range to work with] who has to communicate precise small shifts of emotion and intentions or she’ll seem just bland/cold. Luckily they both succeed in my opinion.
