2018-09-22 16:35:49 +0000 UTCWithout spoilers, and not repeating what Ram said: -Like any show with 20+ episodes per season, there are self-contained/filler/one-off episodes. -This show is not an action adventure. It's more mystery, puzzle, etc... -In life, not all mysteries can be solved immediately. Sometimes, you might not even know that there was a mystery staring you in the face until months/years later. As such, this show has "mini-mysteries" (the episode plot), "big-mysteries" (season arcs), and "major-mysteries" (multi-season/entire show arcs). -This has nothing to do with this episode, but in general, just because an episode doesn't answer questions about mysteries you are aware of, doesn't mean it is a filler/one-off episode. It might be laying the ground work for next seasons big mystery, or something like that. -Oh, and this is sort of relevant to your question, sort of not. But, the multi-season/entire show arc mysteries were apparently things that the show writers decided/planned out even before the show aired. Which is good. However, the show itself didn't do very good ratings, and was constantly under threat of being canceled...so I don't know if the original solutions to the mysteries were used. Supposedly, the show was supposed to be canceled after season 3, but the CEO, or some other big exec, of the production company had fallen in love the show and overruled everyone to keep the show on the air.

I've seen this show 2 or 3 times in its entirety, and I don't think I ever noticed how odd it is that they make no mention of Liv's ability. This episode will have more meaning down the line, rather than in the immediate season arc.

But, you do get that Observer tag at the end, giving the episode a bit more weight towards the world building and mythos of this universe. Don't worry, all of your questions will be answered in due time. Keep enjoying the ride.
