2018-10-26 18:35:25 +0000 UTCSuper unpopular opinion: Naruto is over 700 episodes of complete and utter trash, filled with cliché character, disgustingly slow pacing, lazily written exposition dumps, blatant plot-holes, a story that has no fucking clue where it's going, and literally hundreds of hours of filler episodes so awful that even fans of the show will actively encourage you to completely skip them. It's current popularity comes almost exclusively from people who got into the series at a young age, back when anything involving the word "ninja" was automatically cool. I haven't seen One Piece, but I assume that it's almost exactly the same, only with kids-friendly pirates instead of kids-friendly ninjas. I might be completely wrong here, and you might enjoy these shows in the same way you enjoy DBZ, but I honestly don't think that they, or any of the other long-running anime out there, are worth your time when so much other, better stuff exists that doesn't require nostalgia to enjoy.

2018-10-25 17:35:09 +0000 UTCCowboy Bebop is easily the best show on this list! HxH is great too, but you can get through Bebop faster and then on to something like HxH. I do like One Piece too, but it is FAR too long to react to. Naruto is also too long, but much worse too.
