2018-06-13 19:45:43 +0000 UTCFor a sci-fi show about robots attacking, I think this show handles war and mass destruction with such realism it's amazing. All the scenes between characters as this awful situation develops in front of them is done so perfectly. BSG doesn't pull it's punches and once you connect to the characters the pace won't bother you, it's a very deliberate show in its pacing and leads to something incredible.

2018-06-13 18:58:39 +0000 UTCThe mini series episodes are VERY slow. This is a top 10 show for me but even I get a little bored rewatching the mini series episodes. Luckily they do a good job of setting everything up and the show is much better because of it. Once you get into the show proper things pick up the pace. This IS an origin story, you are exactly right. I cannot wait to see who you end up really liking. I think I know who your top 3 will be but I could be wrong.

2018-06-13 18:20:16 +0000 UTCI've never been a huge Sci-Fi fan, for whatever reason it's just not my genre, but I love this show. A friend tried to get me to watch it years ago and I got bored in those first 30min. He asked me to just try and get through this whole first part and I'm so glad he did. I got hooked and overall was really impressed with the series. The actors did a great job towards the end of this part, the way everyone tried to process what the hell was happening, I particularly like the Secretary of Education panicking in private, then totally stepping up making decisions I bet she never even had to think about.
