Lost REACTION - 6x12

This rewatch is the first time I'm liking Jack and Charlie. I was so biased towards Locke the first time around I really wasn't willing to accept any other perspective (And Charlie just annoyed me). This show is so emotionally profound on so many levels though, I learn a lot about myself watching it, I gotta say. I now realize my hatred for Jack said a lot more about me than it did about his character. Man, I miss this show to death,

it seems like he's enjoying it. Also the show isn't bullshit. That's just your opinion man.

This is an episode I heavily disagree with. How they integrated explaining the whispers is poor in my opinion. It's like they noticed it as an open plot point and needed it to be explained somehow, so Hurley suddenly sais "Wait, I think I know what these things are" ... Then he gets an explanation which is okay and makes sort of sense BUT previously and even in the beginning of season 6 itself (in the temple) they always implied that the whispers have something to do with the others.

Can you pass me the Opium you are on? Seems like the good shit. Season 5 is the best season. Season 6 is the 2nd best, 3rd best if you are pushing it. Season 6 looks amazing, the quality of writing was pretty much the same throughout the series other than the odd episode here or there. Watching these reactions I am realizing how well the show still holds up

Watching these reactions I am reminded how far this show's quality really fell in seasons 5 and, especially, 6. It's crazy - writing was worse, direction was worse, cinematography was definitely worse (the show actually visually looks cheaper in the sixth season - the difference in looks is crazy if compared to first few seasons), pretty much the only constant through out the show was the music. And I say this as a big fan of the show. I still like the show, but sometimes I wonder what could have been if creators didn't completely drop the ball on the last couple of seasons. I know some people say that quality dropped after 3rd season, but I actually think that the shortened 4th season is one of the shows best - great pacing and perfect blend of everything (included such episodes as the Constant, Shape of things to come, Cabin fever, There's no place like home).

in season 1 episode 16, Sawyer hears whispers in the forest that include "it will come back around". These are the last words of Frank Duckett whom he killed by accident. Frank Duckett couldn't move on after he died. The whispers answer is not convenient, it's part of the bigger picture of whats happening on this island.

YES!!! Jack holding at number 2 just as I predicted weeks ago, he can only rise in the next few episodes, he might even grab the number 1 spot for a week or two, season 6 is definitely his finest hour. Locke always knew how important it was to have Jack on his side.

Damn, I never thought of that. I can totally see Mr. Eko as the smoke monster. The MIB also had interest in him clearly. Going face to face with him and leaving him once. Only other person the MIB came face to face with was Locke. Hm.

"MIB fucking throwing Desmond down wells is not going to help your case." LOL this part had me in stitches for some reason. As for Ben, at this point I had all the story and development from him to keep him rooted in the no.1 position along with Jack and Locke, so less screen time didn't hurt his ranking at all. Also it makes me so happy to see Hurley so high on your list. (And I like when you call him Hugo, aw.) He's really the heart of the show.

Like i said above, the whispers were warning people about impending danger. If Shanon heard whispers when she saw walt well we know what happened - shannon got shot. Whispers often warned people about the others coming such as cindy getting captured, so it would make sense the whispers would warn young ben of richard. And I dont remmeber the episode about goodwins wife all that much, so if julite somehow would have been in danger thst episode then thats why they were whispering. The whispers make sense in the context of the finale but im not going to discuss that.

It seemed that the whispers bled through reality when the characters are in great distress, in danger. When the monster appears to people, among other instances, it's like they want to warn people, but then they just scare them. The one instance the whispers did help was to distract Keamy and his mercenaries to help free Ben. And not just dead people that died on the Island, but people that died in general like Kate's stepfather and the man that Sawyer killed in Australia. The most notable whisper is when Jack is locked up in the Hydra and through the intercom he hears his father tell him to "let it go."

So the whispers were supposed to be dead people who couldn't move on? That doesn't make sense then. Walt would always appear around Shannon when she would hear whispers.. and obviously Walt wasn't dead.. Goodwin's wife appeared next to Juliet in the whispers.. she obviously wasn't dead. Richard appeared out of nowhere next to child Ben in his flashback in the whispers. It seems like they wanted it to be some kind of magic travel / teleportation ability of the others. Probably just a rushed in "explanation" they tried to fit in before the show ended.

Yeah I agree, the others were so mysterious and creepy in the first 2 seasons.

so either the writers forgot Ben told a young Rousseau it was the others who whispered or Ben was simply lying lol which I wouldn’t be surprised. Either way I liked the idea of it being the others better , it made them seem so creepy in the earlier seasons .

Tbh I didn't care when Illana died. Her character got really boring imo, besides that one episode where she seduced and captured Sayid.

The writers had a bigger story planned for Ilana but they realized they didn't have enough time to tell it so...boom.
