Lost REACTION - 5x17 - Part 2

Lost REACTION - 5x17 - Part 2

The season 5 finale is in my opinion one of the best tv show episodes ever. I dont know how much I watched it.

Hoping for LA X parts 1-2 under the tree. Merry Christmas!

@Jimmy back in the day, when the shows were being discussed live, since we didn't have a name for Jacob's counterpart, we called him "The man in Black" so if you decide you'd like to use that for your list when you put him in his rightful place, you may want to use that until you have something better.

How do you It's all very Old Testament, really, this feud between them Do you know there are 25 chapters in the book of Genesis that refer to the feuds of brothers? Cain and Abel, most famously, but Joseph was betrayed by his brothers and sold into slavery. Not to forget the sons of Isaac. "And my brother Esau was a hairy man," "but I Jacob am a smooth man. " Then not another peep. Corinthians, Leviticus. You'd think all the brothers of history had worked things out, but, of course, we both know that's not true.

In The TORAH. Rebekah wanted to trick Isaac by making him think that Jacob was really Esau. Jacob was afraid that Isaac would find out, but Rebekah insisted because Esau didn't take the future seriously, so Jacob took the food to his father’s room. After Isaac ate the meal, he gave his blessing to his son, Jacob.Right after Jacob left, the real Esau came in from hunting. His father Isaac answered him, “You will live far away from the richness of the earth. You will live far away from the dew of heaven above. You will live by the sword. And you will serve your brother. But you will grow restless. Then you will throw off the heavy load he put on your shoulders.” - Genesis 27:39-40 This was not much of a blessing. Esau became so enraged at his brother that he threatened to kill him. The account includes the renaming of Jacob as "Israel", literally "He who struggles with God."

Juliet was awesome in S3 & S4, but I didn't like what the writers did to her character in S5 -- having her take a back seat to Sawyer, and then making her give up once Kate returned.

Hey Jimmy I’m not sure if you’re aware of this or not but apparently Lost will be leaving Netflix on January 4. Not sure if that’s what you watch it on

First half of 5> 4> second half of 5> 3> 2> 1 I still find it interesting many, many people prefer 1, but those were different times too, and tv stories were more of a prime time thing, not the kind of art of Breaking Bad, the Wire, the Shield or Better Call Saul. Thematically and structurally and in many levels season 1 of Lost IS pretty flawless though. And people hate on season 2 because it brought the characters to their worst personality traits, whether or not they realize it was on purpose. But the lowest point of the characters in their story arc so far is when they are off island in 4, except maybe Kate and Desmond.

Great reaction dude!

'The incident', as the title says, might have been avoided, or, as Miles have Said, caused by them when the Jughead was detonated. Instead of a reset stuff... What do you think?

Waiting 9 months for Season 6 sucked balls.

Jimmy's gonna need a seperate in memoriam list pretty soon.

Next season is much more confuse than this one. I bet Jimmy will feel lost at least 3 times every episode.

Similarly to when L asks for the members of the Kira investigation to leave the Police, without telling them that he had a fund in case that was necessary.

Like Yemmi showing up right before Eko's death.

Yet, you were kind of lucky. I was able only to binge watch Lost up until 2x17 "Lockdown", that was when I caught up with the series. I feel really pity of those who started watching Lost on 09/22/04. The worst part of it all was the Writer's Strike where we weren't certain about what would happen.

"WHat about me?" is seen as “being egotistical.”. "What about you?" The show is inspired a lot from easter tradtions like buddism. In buddhism, the idea that there is no true self is very important, and ties back to something referred to as "emptiness", which is probably one of the hardest concepts in buddhism to understand and come to terms with. It means that the "I" we perceive as ourselves is essentially made of nothing. You cannot point to the part of you that is you. So in buddhism there is no self, the self is a verb, it is an illusion. In general, when it comes to buddhism everything is essentially "the same".From a Buddhist point of view, the ego is something made up by the mind. It’s the sense of self — a flash of “I” or “me” that we believe in and cling to. It’s the basis of our feeling of self-importance. It’s a story, a myth of self that we keep telling ourselves.Self-centredness, or Ego, is readily observable in the early stages of development of children later, individuals come to adjust their ego, understanding their shared existence. The highest expression of self is a mature identity based on awareness of interconnectedness of all humanity.

I believe "What about you?" meant "What about the stuff you've done?"

Ben stabs somebody to death for a second season finale in a row, what a guy. To me there is no LOST without Benjamin Linus, he is just the best, hands down my favourite character in any show ever. Youre in for a hell of a ride with Ben in the final season.

Michael Harrop

I love how it took you four seasons to succumb to Hurley's charm. This is awesome.

Ninaofthe90s

Excellent reaction video, especially enjoyed the analysis at the end.

Ugly Pig

His memory, yes. His consciousness, no. He's been faking it.

Ugly Pig

What about you?

Locke's not totally dead, per se. The black smoke did adapt his consciousness and memory.

I think by 'what about you' he meant to say Ben didn't deserve a reward just for making the right choices, his whole idea was to see if people would make the right choices just for the sake of being good. If he tells them what to do or rewards them for their good deeds then those good deeds arent really good deeds at all.

Also think of all the other dead people we've seen on the island...

Jimmy trying to understand what’s happening is the best thing ever lmao

Richard's answer is the one who will save us all in Latin...

Just call him Flocke (Fake Locke) now.

Bernhard Escher

Hey Jimmy, really enjoyed your reaction to the finale. I binge watched Lost until this episode, and then had to wait a full year to see what the outcome of the bomb explosion was - how do you think you would have managed if you had to wait too? Thanks!
