A thing to note in the opening. Jacob spins the thread. Jacob measures the thread, Jacob cuts the thread and weaves his tapestry, which he says at the end takes a very long time. When the man in black calls out Jacob for bringing the ship to the Island, I immediately thought of the three Moirai, or Fates of greek mythology. Even though Jacob is egyptian-influenced with that Taweret goddess statue of birth and fertility.
