2018-03-31 01:31:11 +0000 UTCIIRC from Lindelof interviews, when he was asked by some of the main actors during casting what he thought the longest ideal run of the show might be, he said no more than 4 seasons. Speculating now, but I think he had some long term ideas he was playing with from the start but the writers' room as a whole just plotted out one season at a time.
