IIRC, there was a scene where Levi was standing over one of the corpses with blond hair and he bent down to do something, then later the body was revealed to be Petra when it showed her corpse being thrown off and Levi sadly looking on. From all of that, I was able to deduce that the patch was Petra's, and I'm sure others were able to as well.

But just know this, Isayama the creator said that the anime is basically his final draft and to add to mistakes of his manga and thus having the anime be the final product. So although the Petra father scene was added, it was meant to be added to improve the story and IS canon.

(Petra's father, for example, I read was not in the manga?) And I never try to look up stuff from the manga because I don't want to accidentally spoil anything for myself. π¬

Though I did read that the OVA changed up a few things from the source material and even cut stuff out. Made me love the OVA less when I realized it was actually important stuff (meaningful dialogue between Levi and Erwin, for example). Really wish they hand't messed with that because it's key to Levi's character/growth and their relationship...

I thought this was a fantastic episode for Levi but also for Erwin. Btw Jimmy, what did you make of the Female Titan crying??
