FINAL (?) LOST THOUGHTS | FINALE | FAV CHARACTERS | WHERE'S IT RANK?

I'm so glad I'm finally not alone at laughing at "WHYYOUBURNDOWNMYRAFTMANHUHWHYYOUBURNMYRAFT"

Eko wasn't in the church because he didn't move on with the people in the church. He probbaly moved on with his brother. Ben also told John he is not ready to enter the church, he still had things to work out meaning he had to be with his daughter probably. Same with Daniel, Charlotte and Miles etc. they all moved on at different times.

Just binged all six seasons of your Lost reactions in a week! Thanks, man. It was one highly entertaining journey. I will never be able to watch Michael again without laughing. “WhyYouBurnDownMyRaftMan?!” Loved your funny and smart post-episode thoughts and, of course, The List. Jack has always been and will always be my absolute favorite Lost character, so I was supremely gratified that he made it to the top slot on The List by the end, #3 on the overall series list, and even reached "Great" status in one episode! His character arc is one of the best I've ever seen. My thoughts on the brilliance and beauty of this show…the whole run, including and especially the finale…could fill a book. Suffice it to say, I'm very happy you enjoyed season 6 and the finale, and you’re spot on with your interpretation of it. Thanks for bringing back all the feels and excitement from way back when!

Locke, Ben, Jack, Juliet. Also my top 4, in no specific order. (Though if pressed, I would probably choose Ben as no.1? Uhhh but I'm not pressed, haha.) Your faves being my faves is just one of the many reasons I loved watching your reactions :). I was happy to see Hurley so high up as well. When Hurley cried, I cried. He's just so damn pure. His later scenes with Ben are absolute gold. And Jin at no.9? Why is heart my so full! He absolutely deserves to be in the top 10. As you said, he's just a Good Guy. Out of all the characters, I found Jin's smiles and moments of happiness the most precious and heart-warming. You know what. Forget top 4. Jin and Hurley join the other 4 and they all just hang out together in the top spot. I think Locke/Jack/Ben are the best characters (and Desmond!), in terms of story, journey, and development/growth, but my heart just goes out to Jin and Hurley and Juliet so much. (Okay, and Ben. Fine, he's at no.1. He's a great character and he owns my heart. Damn.)

You are right about everything being "real" and only the flash sideways being "after death". I know there are those who say otherwise - "They all died in the plane crash!" - and they are just flat out wrong. It's not even debatable. Some people just don't pay attention, I guess. Regarding mr Eko, it occured to me during a rewatch of the series that when he dies, the episode cuts to a shot of him and his little brother as kids. In my headcanon, this was Eko's version of the flash sideways. Whereas for the rest of the cast, the most important time in their lives, as Christian said, was the time they all spent together, for Eko the most important time was spent with his brother. Now, I'm not saying the writers planned it that way back in season 3, but it fits.

Ugly Pig

That's what I always thought too.

I think Ben and Widmore couldn't kill each other because they were both "others". It was not that they physically couldn't kill each other, it was just that it was against the "rules". Like how Juliet was "marked" for killing Danny.

Richard really deserves a Top10-spot!

you'll definitely notice more things and appreciate the show more with a rewatch I'd say. Especially since you're already attached to the characters so season 1 might be more entertaining a second go.

The Mr. Eko actor was offered a place in the finale, and he asked for five times as much money as he was offered, so the writers said "forget it". I'm still super sad about it, too.

I don't think thats it since if Ben actually cared about following the rules of the Others then he wouldn't have ordered Mikhail to kill the two women in the Looking Glass in season 3. They were Others too. Plus Widmore had already been banished at that point so I don't think he was considered one of them.

You might be interested in the Missing Pieces. 13 short webisodes that are one scene each. Canon, they take place in the first two seasons.

I did interpret the Christian/Jack church scene explanation the same way you did. I've enjoyed watching your reactions to Lost. I'm thinking of taking up Narcos and then watching your reactions there too...

He seemed to really enjoy the music towards the end of season 6.

What did you think of the music?

WALT - Special people are drawn to the island and have a certain communion that means they have a purpose with the island. Walt was arguably the most powerful and connected to the source the most. The electromagnetic energy is inside of every human, but much more so in Walt. We know this because electromagnetic energy disrupts the navigation with birds and that's why he accidentally caused birds to hit the windows. He also had the same powers of the island, such as being able to move through time and space(island moving and that's how the MiB could teleport because he was one with the death side of the source), also being able to see future events(time travel).

Daniel Gray

I like your list. The only one who is missing is Richard! No Richard?? :(

Ninaofthe90s

agree with all of that. the patreon has been well worth it for this reaction series.

Finally (and sorry to keep spamming with comments) i just want to say thank you. Lost is my favourite show ever, i have rewatched it so many times i know it like the back of my hand. But getting to rewatch it through you, discussing and debating the same questions we all did in 2004-2010 brought me back to those days on the murky message boards trying to work it all out. Its been a hell of a journey and im happy to keep giving you my $5 every month (im in England so really its less than that whatever the exchange rate is 😊). Would love to see more Lost related things going forward, tributes etc (i posted a good Ben one on the finale video) and fingers crossed for Battlestar Gallactica. I think 2 or 3 characters from that show have potential to make your all time list too

Michael Harrop

Please, react to Lost Webisodes, they are really short and you could do them all in like 2-3 videos.

Andrew

Think it might have been my comment that made you realise why the Ben/Hurley scene got you, if so thats awesome happy to help. Im glad you not only enjoyed the ending but listened and understood it. As you say, people HATE the ending, is it perfect absolutely not, but to me it is a beautiful fitting end to the show. What irks me is, i dont care if people didnt like the ending for legit reasons. But what has happened since the end of the show is, people saying how shit the end is because they died in the crash, they were dead the whole time. You dont get to hate and bash the show because you didnt pay enough attention to understand. But watching your reactions and your keen insight, i never worried that youd be one of those people 👍

Michael Harrop

Also, Lost in the top 7?? Music to my ears man!

Dean Cyphers

Ben and Charles couldnt kill each other because the 'Others' cant kill each other. No magic or mystery, like when Locke doesnt shoot Widmore in the past saying 'theyre my people'. When Juliet kills Pickett she has a trial and is branded. Thats what i always assumed, theres no definitive answers to it, but thats my assumption.

Michael Harrop

incorrect, He basically hated Hawaii the second he landed and was not great to work with. Then both his parents died and he asked to be written off the show.

T0ast

The pregnancy issue is one of the best answers in the show. The pregnancy issues was caused by "The Incident", so Juliet was brought to the island by the thing she actually caused. Not only that, but a long time ago in the past, The Egyptians were also as curious as the Dharma Initiative about the electromagnetic energy and had their own "incident". Instead of creating a button, they worked with what tech they had and created a stone cork(seen in finale). Unfortunately after that incident they began to realise that their pregnant women were dying and so they built a giant statue of the goddess Tawaret, the goddess of fertility... you're welcome.

Daniel Gray

Guaranteed to bring the tears. It's cool that Jimmy watches Mum's reactions.

About Ben and Whidmore not being able to kill each other, it was more of a code between them and amongst the others. I think Jacob and his brother couldn't kill each other physically but to Ben and Whidmore it was a strict rule which is why Ben says "he broke the rules" when his daughter got killed because he felt Whidmore is responsible for it. Not to mention when Juliet killed Danny she would have been sentenced to death but only got the brand instead.

Dean Cyphers

Thanks for the reactions man. Personally, I believe rewatch makes the later seasons better, but weakens the earlier seasons a bit just because they focus on shit like Walt and pregnancy on the island even though you know it's mostly irrelevant. The thing is lost is all about the characters and the flashbacks, dialogue, and character Arch's are just as good on rewatch. I think I really only appreciated jack a lot more until my 3rd viewing, he is one of my favourites now.

I think Charlie's death is gonna break American mum...

The protector of the island makes the rules but once that person is dead, the rules go out the window. Jacob couldn't hurt the MiB while mother was alive. She was dead when he threw him in the cave. When Ben told Hurley to help Desmond get home, Hurley said no one can leave. Ben says that's the way Jacob ran things.

Thanks Jimmy - great ride. I agree with most of your character list and it would be hard for me to remove any of them but Richard is in my top 10. He’s just a complete badass once you focus on him more (scene where he plants the torch in LaFleur is amazing), and his episode where they give his backstory is the best in season6.

Mike

So happy to hear it's in your top 10. A lot of people consider the later seasons to be their least favorite because of all the sci fi elements that they introduce. But I'm with you, the later seasons are the most impressive.

This was very entertaining lol, glad you throughouly enjoyed the show

Light Yagami

They wanted Eko back, but the actor wanted 2x the pay that they offered. At least that's what I heard.
